I've tried playing an MP3 on two MacBooks in Google Chrome and have had no luck in playing it in the browser; I have no issues in Safari. In Chrome, the audio player controls load, but the actual audio file never loads. Looking at the HTTP requests/responses, I noticed that the MP3 returns a 200, 206, and a final 200 code in Chrome. In Safari, I just get a single 200.

So I actually made an account on apple discussion just to ask this question. My macbook 2015 12 inch is having problems when I'm browsing youtube on safari. The problem happens when after I stayed for a bit of time on youtube and sometimes it really lags when I resize the video from fullscreen to normal or from normal to fullscreen. Youtube sometimes makes my whole laptop load, causing a pinwheel load. I don't have flash installed, I had it installed and uninstalled it to see results, nothing new. I also tried the delete cookies thing or delete all when i had flash installed to no avail. Please help I'm almost out of options as I have already tried everything on the internet with no results.

My MacBook Pro M1 2020 (Ventura 13.2.1) used to play video to my TVs via a USB-C to HDMI adapter, but now it will only play video from clips or games in fast forward or at normal speed without audio. It is set to play audio out to the devices, not the MacBook speakers. It was fine a week ago, but now it won't work on multiple TVs, HDMI cables, and adapters, so I'm confident it's a software issue with my computer.

I also have the exact same issue on my MacBook Air M2, audio/video playback when using a USB-C to HDMI adapter is in fast forward when connected to an extended display wether it be via the cable or via dock which then utilises a HDMI to HDMI cable. I notice this is only when trying to use the sound from the external display. When using the MacBook speakers this issue does not arise. This is particularly annoying when you want to take benefit of your home theatre speaker setup to watch movies/tv shows etc. Hopefully this bug will be fixed soon as I have tried many different cables/docks, non seem to work.

Same issue. MacBook Pro 14 M2 with Sonoma. Connected to a tv using HDMI. The TV has a soundbar. It worked fine but the last week or so it has been impossible to watch a video or even listen to a whatsapp audio. it just fast forwards to the end.

This also happening to me with my Macbook M1 Pro 14inch (Ventura 13.4). I have already tried with two displays, one TV and one monitor, one with an HDMI cable and the other with an USB-C cable - same issue, fast-forwarding the videos at super high speeds in some cases (browsers), in others just stuttering the sound. This only happens when the external sound output is chosen, everything is fine when the Macbook speakers are selected.

I found a couple of solutions that might help someone: you can close the coreaudiod process (responsible for audio playback), which should then start automatically, or you can also terminate a process that has been running in the background for a very long time and is somehow related to audio. I've also heard of a way to install Garage Band, maybe that will help, although it's quite strange.

Every time I launch a YouTube video in Safari [5.1 (7534.48.3) / Lion OS X 10.7.1] the YouTube page is served and the video starts (sound included). With a short delay a second audio stream of the same video is served. When I stop the video player, the second (i.e. the delayed) audio stream continues. After closing the browser tab the audio stops.I can demo this with this URL =n6oXZSQeGbk , but any YouTube URL will do.N.B. No other video playback apps are running and there is no difference when using Flash or HTML playback.

If I use the test osc plugin in Logic Pro X, running thru a specific CoreAudio driver, I can succesfully manage keeping a consistent gain structure all the way thru my mixer, using Apple supplied Class-Compliant driver. 0db sine wave is exactly that all the way thru. Easy enough. If I go over that, I hear distortion.

Now... safe to say that's calibrated, but... if I use the Music app, or audio coming from Safari, signal is about 4.5db hotter. That simply *cannot* be right. Send that to internal speakers and of course they're cracking and popping.

Everything seems to be working perfectly in Firefox and Chrome, however Safari has some major issues. Please feel free to give it a shot on your computer to see what I am talking about, but the gist is this: I got the sounds to play in Safari (which wasn't happening before due to using a SteroPanner instead of just a Panner Node), however the playback seems pretty shoddy compared to the other two browsers. Additionally none of the tracks will not mute properly, and tracking through the songs using the upper slider is very messy. I find this rather confusing since the mute functionality is based entirely around HTML elements and doesn't actually make use of the Web Audio API. One idea I have is to upload the audio into a buffer first, rather than grabbing it from an HTML5 audio element, which has been suggested by a number of tutorials. I feel this might address the poor audio playback quality, though I'm not convinced this will help with the muting problems.

And, yes, loading the sound files as buffers will work more reliably across browsers, although it will mean writing a lot more code to control audio playback. You can see a basic example of play/pause/currentTime here.

I have trouble. When I try to play YouTube videos, they play super fast. I'd include a video of the problem but it would be too large. Suffice it to say that a 24 minute video finishes in less than 5 seconds when I hit the Play button. This is new with Big Sur. I just installed beta 9 last night. I have turned off all extensions, deleted my history, restarted Safari, all to no avail. The problem happens with Chrome too so might be a QuickTime problem or something underlying.

Let's see if you can guess what made this sound. Good luck! This sound was recorded in Sequoia National Park on April 2, 2018 using a Sound Devices digital audio recorder and two Audio Technica AT4022 omnidirectional microphones placed in a homemade binaural housing.Wear headphones for the best listening experience.Enjoy!

The TimedMediaHandler extension allows you to display audio and video files in wiki pages, using the same syntax as for image files. It includes the VideoJS Player. There is support for subtitles and captions (aka Timed Text) and real time stream switching between multiple WebM and other derivatives and many other features.TMH server side support includes options for uploading HTML5 audio and video, multiple transcode profiles to deliver content, playback of MIDI files, metadata parsing for Ogg and WebM videos, and integration with MediaWiki's job queue system for scheduling transcoding jobs.

Third-party users of MediaWiki may also wish to manually enable MP4 H.264/AAC support for native video and audio playback in Safari/IE/Edge, but when using these formats you may need a patent license from MPEG-LA for internet broadcasting.

Compress videos, remove audio, manipulate thumbnails, and make your video compatible with all platforms through this lightweight and efficient library.100% native code was used, we do not use FFMPEG as it is very slow, bloated and the GNU license is an obstacle for commercial applications. In addition, google chrome uses VP8/VP9, safari uses h264, and most of the time, it is necessary to encode the video in two formats, but not with this library. All video files are encoded in an MP4 container with AAC audio that allows 100% compatibility with safari, mozila, chrome, android and iOS. ff782bc1db
