Home Inventory Tracker ("the app") is an offline-first application for cataloguing your personal belongings. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.
The short version: the app works fully offline and collects nothing from you. Your data stays on your device.
We—the developer—collect nothing.
Home Inventory Tracker does not collect, transmit to us, sell, or share your personal or inventory data. We operate no servers and never receive your information.
The app works entirely offline and does not transmit your data over the internet.
If you enable App Lock, your PIN is stored only on your device as a salted SHA-256 hash (never in plain text) and is never transmitted.
If you enable biometric authentication, it is handled entirely by Android and never leaves your device.
All information you enter—including items, photos, categories, rooms, prices, serial numbers, warranties, notes and settings—is stored only in the app's private storage on your device.
It is never uploaded to any server we control and is never accessible to us or any third party.
The camera is used only when you choose to take a photo of an item or scan a label. Captured images are stored locally on your device.
Label scanning (OCR) is performed entirely on-device using Google ML Kit's bundled text recognition model. No image or recognized text is sent over the network.
Photos you select from your device are copied into the app's private storage and are never uploaded.
The app may display local notifications to remind you before a warranty expires. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any data transmission.
The app contains:
No advertising
No analytics
No tracking SDKs
It does not use any third-party service that receives your personal or inventory data.
You remain in complete control of your data.
You can export your information as a JSON file or as a ZIP backup containing your inventory data and photos.
Any sharing of exported files is initiated and controlled entirely by you.
The app does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Home Inventory Tracker does not require or provide an account.
To delete your data, simply delete items within the app or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app removes all data stored by the app from your device.
If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new Last updated date.
