For this project, we had to repurpose everyday objects into tufted designs. Tufting is an artisanal weaving technique that gives a carpet-like finish to the creations
So I chose to create a carpet-effect bag inspired by the 60s
fter stretching the tufting fabric over the frame, I created and then transferred my patterns onto the fabric. Then I was able to start tufting using the tufting gun, and alternating the colors of wool needed for my bag design
After that, I put carpet glue on the back of the canvas so that the padding wouldn't peel off and so that the bag would last a long time.
Then I cut out the outline of my design flush so that I could shave it off and create a clean, raised pattern, and finally be able to assemble the bag and make a lining!
