For this personal project, I decided to reuse the denim scraps from a school project "re-jean-eration", where denim was at the center of our creations.
I chose to make a bra top, with long bell sleeves, detached from the top, in a festival or techno party style.
I reused some parts of the jeans without modifying them in order to keep the basics of the jeans by diverting them. For example, the small pocket of the jeans, called "watch pocket", was used as a mini bag, illustrated here in a festive way with a joint.
Or the felled seam hems that I used as a strap to tie in the back and neck.
I used lace as a stencil on one side of the top, and I also used linocut on the other side.
Then, still with scraps of jeans, I made a big destroyed tote bag, reusing many jeans pockets and having fun with new linocuts.
My linocut inspirations were witchy, psychedelic, as can be found in my paintings.
Ultimately, this project was a good reason to start linocutting. it's crazy to see what you can do with just leftover jeans, which are destined to be thrown away because they're not used.
