Hand of Humanity

For this school subject we had to create a physical improvement so I chose to work on the new technology topic in a dystopic way  

First of all, I wanted to make a cast of my own hand in order to best transcribe the reality of humanity, with all its "flaws" (hair, skin pores, etc.)

I therefore used molding alginate which is a material that dries quickly and is flexible enough to easily dislodge my hand without damaging the mold.

Then, I was able to pour my plaster, taking care to pay attention to air bubbles, and that the plaster reached the end of the finger cavity.

Unmolding time! 

This step gave me a hard time, in fact, even if I was meticulous and patient, 4 of the 5 fingers of the hand unfortunately broke!

I still managed to glue them back together carefully with wood glue
