In this project, we collaborated with students from China Academy of Arts, forming a group with different backgrounds, including Business, Engineering, and Industrial Design.
Based on the theme of 'The Elderly', during ideation we identified the issue of the elderly having bad walking habits and easily stumbling due to reduced mobility and bad eyesights.
We came up with a prototype shoe that alerts the wearer when they are walking improperly, and also gives an alert when the wearer has fallen.
We designed the shoe by 3D printing, and for the exhibition, added visualization that changes depending on the shoe's angle and acceleration.
The LED lights up when the shoe is tilted or when the wearer has fallen. This is detected through the gyroscope and the accelerometer.
