If you want a secure, deep-bass fit that stays locked in during high-intensity intervals, choose SUNGOOYUE Earbuds Earbuds Heavy; if you need all-day wearability with situational awareness and massive battery endurance, choose Selouj 2025. This isn't a close call between two identical options; these are fundamentally different tools designed for distinct listening philosophies. One prioritizes isolation and physical security for the gym, while the other prioritizes comfort and environmental connection for long outdoor sessions. I have analyzed the technical specifications and design intent of both to help you decide which architecture fits your active lifestyle best, specifically keeping earphones for running as the central use case.
• SUNGOOYUE Earbuds Earbuds Heavy: Delivers a sealed, bass-heavy experience with a secure ergonomic fit using four ear tip sizes, but trades off ambient awareness for isolation. Best for runners who need noise cancellation via seal and heavy bass impact.
• Selouj 2025: Offers an open-ear design that keeps you aware of traffic and surroundings with 30 hours of total playtime, though it sacrifices the deep bass punch of traditional in-ear seals. Best for runners who prioritize safety and long-duration comfort over sound isolation.
The SUNGOOYUE model is engineered with a specific focus on stability and acoustic isolation, making it a robust choice for those who view their workout as a time to shut out the world. The data sheet highlights a "Sweat Design" that utilizes Bluetooth 5.3 technology to ensure a fast, stable connection between the left and right units directly from the charging case. This connectivity standard is crucial for rotatable ear cups over ear headphones for running, or rather, in this case, the earbuds themselves, because it eliminates lag and dropouts when you are pushing your heart rate up. The inclusion of IPX7 waterproofing means these are built to handle heavy rain or intense sweat without failure, a non-negotiable feature for anyone training outdoors regardless of the weather.
What truly sets this unit apart is the emphasis on a customized fit. The manufacturer includes four replacement earplugs, allowing you to dial in the perfect seal. For many athletes, the difference between a workout where the music distracts you and one where it drives you comes down to whether the earbud stays put. The ergonomics here are designed to enhance the workout experience by preventing the need for constant adjustment. The sound profile leans heavily into "Heavy Bass," driven by the sealed design that traps low frequencies inside the ear canal. If you are the type of runner who needs that thumping rhythm to maintain momentum, this sealed architecture delivers exactly what the specs promise.
However, this design has a clear trade-off. Because the earbuds create a seal to achieve that bass response and isolation, they inherently block out external sounds. While this is great for focusing on your playlist, it removes the ability to hear approaching cars or cyclists. The battery life supports a solid 5 to 6 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, powered by the built-in 50mAh lithium batteries in each earbud and supported by the 200mAh charging case. This duration is sufficient for most training sessions, but it is not designed for multi-day marathons without recharging.

Who should skip this product? If you are a runner who values hearing your surroundings for safety, or if you find that in-ear tips cause discomfort after an hour of wear, this sealed design will likely feel restrictive. You might also find the lack of a digital display on the case limiting if you prefer to check exact battery percentages at a glance without pulling out your phone.
The Selouj 2025 represents a shift toward open-ear audio technology, prioritizing comfort and situational awareness over the traditional isolation of in-ear buds. The core design philosophy here is "Open-Ear," which creates a virtually weightless feeling that reduces pressure on the ears. This allows users to wear the headphones for hours without the fatigue often associated with blocking the ear canal. For someone looking for sweat resistant over ear headphones for running that don't feel like they are clogging the ear, this is a superior option. The device features a Smart Digital Display, a practical addition that lets you track battery life instantly, addressing the common anxiety of not knowing how much power remains before you head out the door.
While an open design naturally lacks the physical bass boost of a sealed earbud, the large driver size attempts to compensate for this loss. The real advantage lies in the "Surrounding Sound Awareness." These wireless headphones allow you to enjoy music while staying fully connected to your environment. This is critical for earphones for running on city streets or trails where visibility and audibility of traffic are essential for safety. The passive noise cancellation mentioned in the controls refers to the reduction of wind noise and background hiss, not active electronic cancellation, preserving the natural audio of your surroundings.
Battery life is the standout feature here. With an average life of 30 hours, this system far exceeds the competition in terms of endurance. Whether you are taking short daily runs or embarking on longer training blocks, the likelihood of the battery dying mid-session is negligible. The IPX7 waterproof rating ensures that sweat and rain pose no threat to the electronics, matching the durability of the sealed competitors. The lightweight construction, weighing in at a manageable 0.13 kg for the set, reinforces the goal of an ultra-comfortable fit that stays put during movement.
Who should skip this product? If your primary requirement is deep, sub-bass immersion that vibrates your chest, the open-ear design will feel thin compared to a sealed alternative. Additionally, if you prefer to completely isolate yourself from the world to enter a flow state, the constant presence of ambient noise might be distracting rather than reassuring. The open nature also means the sound leaks out slightly more than sealed buds, so you might not want to blast these in a quiet library setting.
• Best for Battery Life → Selouj 2025: With 30 hours of total playtime versus the 5–6 hours of the SUNGOOYUE, the Selouj wins decisively for extended trips or forgetful chargers.
• Best for Deep Bass & Isolation → SUNGOOYUE Earbuds Earbuds Heavy: The sealed design and focus on "Heavy Bass" make this the only choice if you need maximum acoustic separation and low-frequency impact.
• Best for Situational Awareness → Selouj 2025: The open-ear design allows you to hear traffic and surroundings, a critical safety feature for road runners.
• Best for Customized Fit Options → SUNGOOYUE Earbuds Earbuds Heavy: Comes with four replacement earplugs to ensure a tight, secure seal for various ear shapes.
• Best for Visual Battery Tracking → Selouj 2025: Features a dedicated smart digital display on the case, whereas the SUNGOOYUE relies on manual estimation or app checks.
• Best for Lightweight Comfort → Selouj 2025: The open-ear structure feels virtually weightless, reducing pressure points for all-day wear.
• Best for Secure Lock-in During High Impact → SUNGOOYUE Earbuds Earbuds Heavy: The four-tip system and ergonomic design are tailored specifically to prevent movement during vigorous activity.
• Best for All-Day Commuting → Selouj 2025: The combination of comfort, awareness, and massive battery makes it ideal for long train rides or walking commutes.
Buying considerations extend beyond just the specs listed above. When choosing between these two, think about your typical route. Do you run on busy highways where hearing a car is vital? The open-ear design of the Selouj 2025 is the safer bet. Do you run in a park or gym where you want to zone out and push through a wall of sound? The sealed, bass-heavy approach of the SUNGOOYUE is more effective. Consider your ear sensitivity as well; some people simply cannot tolerate the sensation of something plugging their ear canal, making the open-ear style a necessity rather than a preference. Finally, consider your charging habits. If you travel frequently or run multiple times a day, the 30-hour capacity of the Selouj eliminates the need for daily charging, whereas the SUNGOOYUE may require a top-up every other day depending on usage.
After weighing the specifications and design priorities, I would personally buy the Selouj 2025 for my own running routine. The 30-hour battery life combined with the open-ear design offers the safest and most comfortable experience for outdoor running, ensuring I stay aware of my environment without sacrificing audio quality. However, if your priority is purely about maximizing bass impact and isolating yourself from the world during a gym session, the SUNGOOYUE Earbuds Earbuds Heavy remains the stronger contender. Ultimately, the choice depends on whether you value safety and endurance or isolation and bass depth.
Yes, both models feature an IPX7 waterproof rating, meaning they are designed to resist sweat, rain, and splashes, making them suitable for any weather condition during your run.
The Selouj 2025 offers a significantly longer battery life of up to 30 hours, while the SUNGOOYUE provides approximately 5 to 6 hours of continuous playback per charge.
The Selouj 2025 is superior for safety because its open-ear design allows ambient sound to pass through, letting you hear cars and surroundings clearly.
Both brands emphasize secure fits; the SUNGOOYUE uses a sealed design with multiple ear tip sizes, while the Selouj uses a lightweight, ergonomic open-ear hook design to stay put.
