Research Interests
Bio-inspired functional surface: Developed various the functional surfaces which consist of micro/nano structures inspired by Gecko-foot, Remora, Stenocara, Greta oto, Fingerprint, and so on.
Next-generation robot systems: Micro/nano functional surfaces for the next-generation robot systems such as friction enhanced end-effector for the glass transfer system, tactile sensor for AI robot, etc.
Fabrication and analysis of hydrophobic surface: Developed polymer or silicon fine structures with high aspect ratio, various duty ratio and hierarchy. Demonstrated superhydrophobic surface and non-wetting surface. Study on the effect of material properties and geometrical characteristic to water repellency.
Microstructured acoustic element: Fabrication of the Helmholtz resonator inspired acoustic element which is capable of the acoustic filter in wide ultrasound frequency ranges
Scalable fabrication for massive product of micro/nano structures: Developed diverse roll to roll based micro/nano fabrication methods. Developed facile method to make large area micro/nano patterned surfaces.
Soft robot: Developed magnetic soft robot composed of polymer. It could be manipulated by magnetic force and would be used as medical purposes.
