Sunday Morning Prayer

The Collect (Let us pray together)

New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors, and to devote each day to your Son, Our Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord.

Amen.

Call to Praise & Prayer (cf. Ps. 99)

The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble; God sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake.

God is Holy

Great is the Lord in Zion; God is exalted over all the nations. Let them praise your great and awesome name

God is Holy

God is mighty, he loves justice— you have established equity; in Jacob you have done what is just and right. Worship at God's footstool;

God is Holy.

Scripture

We will read the scripture together twice. The first reading is to be received as a gift and will be followed by a moment of silent reflection as we listen well to God speaking. During the second reading listen close for what gift God is offering you through this passage. After the second reading you will be given the opportunity to share a brief response, a word or phrase, that illuminates what you hear God saying to you.

Prayers of the People

You are invited to lift up your prayer for your family, the congregation, those suffering, the community, our leaders, and the communion of saints. After each prayer the leader will guide our response.

Lord, in your mercy (leader)

Hear our prayer (all)

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name;

thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Invitation

Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him and seek to grow into his likeness. Let us draw near with faith, make our humble confession, and prepare to receive the Holy Mystery of this meal.

Confession and Pardon

At each pause offer your confession to Christ.

Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. (pause)

We have failed to be an obedient church. (pause)

We have not done your will, we have broken your law, (pause)

we have rebelled against your love, (pause)

we have not loved our neighbors, (pause)

and we have not heard the cry of the needy. (pause)

Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience,

through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Hear the good news: Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God's love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!

In the Name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!

Glory to God. Amen

Communion

The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

Lift up your hearts.

We Lift them up to the Lord.

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,

heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.
