This project was created for Pwnisher's Endless Engines challenge. I wanted the focal object to be a piece of paper that folds into an airplane and then transforms into a boat through self-folding animations. Initially, I struggled to find an existing method to achieve this effect, so I began experimenting with different techniques, such as keyframing vertex groups and using geometry nodes in Blender. Ultimately, the best solution was to rig the model and hand-animate the transformation, which resulted in a smooth and visually appealing sequence. I plan to adapt this animation technique into my game, potentially as part of an enemy or player design.
