This project involved creating a bulletin board in the residence hall that would showcase something useful to the residents. It would stay up for a month.
The reason behind making the bulletin board is a place to put information as well as it being something decorative on the walls of the hall.
The board reads:
Grab a Good Book
Adults who read fiction have increased creativity, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
Reading also boosts brain power, creating cognitive engagement which can help with things like memory and brain function as we get older.
Lastly, reading supports self-improvement.
I wanted this one to be about getting a good book.
This bulletin board uses only printed materials. I planned it by using the measurement of the board and created an InDesign document of the same size. Then I laid out the format of the font and pictures in that document.
I downloaded an image of hands reaching up from iStock and edited it to have an extra on the end that was pink.

Then I created a bookshelf with books above it in InDesign. After that, I wrote the content and then transferred the font and photos to other pages that were letter-sized to print easily.
And when I cut it out, I overlapped the white spaces between words and letters to make it seemless. After all that, all I had to do was put it up on the board.
