Bulletin Board: Harry Potter and Campus Resources

This project involved creating a bulletin board in the residence hall that would welcome the residents. It would stay up for a month.  

The reason behind making the bulletin board is a place to put information as well as it being something decorative on the walls of the hall. 

The inspiration for the bulletin board is the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling. This board matches the door decorations I created for that year which were also based on the Harry Potter series: the Hogwarts Letter and the 9 3/4 Train Ticket. It also matches the whiteboard art Harry Potter Object Drawing.

I decided that I would pick the Marauder's Map and make it into a map that showed campus resources. 

I decided what resources I wanted to display and then determined what area of campus I could draw on the bulletin board. I typed up a small blurb about each resource and printed them out. 

I trimmed each blurb and cut out all the curved edge pieces from bulletin board paper. I wanted the border to look like the footprints on the map. Then I wrote the title of the bulletin board on the paper. 

After that, I drew the buildings and paths and added the names to the buildings. Lastly, I pasted the blurbs on the bulletin board and drew the footprints.
