InterAksyon.com tracked down the story of the final day of the pedicab driver whose death has sparked intense debate and introspection among readers.

Nameless and faceless until now, Reynaldo Carcillar died a tragically lonesome death on June 21, by the account of C.J. Chanco, going largely unaided and unattended despite suffering an apparent heart attack or stroke in front of many passersby right outside a university.

This, from what InterAksyon.com chief photographer Bernard Testa could piece together from interviews with police, neighbors, relatives, security guards, and witnesses, is how Reynaldo Carcillar's final hours unfolded.

Following the viral reaction online, several organizations, requesting anonymity, launched rush donation drives in order to provide monetary assistance and support for the families of the pedicab drivers Carcillar and Mateo. These donation drives were done in the span of one week and amassed funds enough to cover the estimated expense for funeral services of the drivers.
