The summer wind is warm, refreshing and always welcoming. That's how I feel about social dancing. It always takes you to a better place.
I want to make social dancing just as enjoyable for you or your students by creating a safe learning environment and teaching you how to comfortably dance with another person.
Dance is one of the oldest and most joyous forms of expression and is even better with a group. Now imagine a room full of teens doing the moves your grandparents (or great-grandparents) did to the beat of modern, clean music. Whether it’s swing or folk dancing, holding hands and moving to the music is fun! But not everyone knows what to do, and this community-building social skill that Americans used to take for granted is at risk of being forgotten in the past...
Learn to dance with another human being in a group of your peers. The low-pressure instruction is always thorough and allows for plenty of opportunities for practice and feedback.
Swing
Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha-cha, Salsa, Hustle, Merengue
Contra dances, circle dances, country dances and folk dances
Social dancing can't be done in isolation. It requires a partner and it's the most fun in a community. Dancers are never required to come with A PARTNER. We change partners with each dance and everyone is expected dance with everyone else. No one is allowed to languish on the wall wishing they were a part of the action. Summerwind is an inclusive dance society.
