Microwave Lock

Our microwave glass tray ejected and broke while driving. This hack adds a lock on the door so this doesn't happen again.

First here's how to get a replacement glass tray:

1. Call Hymer and ask if its approved under warranty (they never us back but you should still try.)
2. Get your model number. The hymer owners manual listed 4040006-blck-0 but that's not a valid Danby model. I removed the microwave and on the back found my model is dmw07a2ssdd. Reinstalling was hard so you might want to guess your model number is the same as mine.
3. Go to danbyapplianceparts website
4. Enter model number and buy the glass tray ($20 with shipping)
5. Send receipt to Hymer for warranty refund. The never sent us a refund; we assume this is another punishment for revealing the Hymer's safety code violations.
6. Always put the tray in the draw when driving or add this page's hack so the door is locked.
