What are skin tags?

Skin tags (or acrochordons) are small growths of the skin that look like deflated balloons. That may look a bit like warts—and appear anywhere in the body, but most especially when the skin rubs against each other or with clothing.

Although they aren’t dangerous, they can become uncomfortable, infected, and embarrassing.

Is acne genetic?

Nearly everyone develops breakouts during our teenage years. We can’t predict who will develop more severe acne. However, if one or both of your parents (or other close relative) had severe acne that left them with acne scars, you have a higher risk of developing severe acne.

The good news is that you don’t have to live with acne nor wait for it to turn into irreversible scarring. Seek help from a board-certified dermatologist.  Today, virtually every case of acne can be treated successfully.

Did you know?

Filiform warts are made up of long, thin projections caused by human papillomavirus (HPV).

They are transmitted through skin-to-skin contact. Minor trauma causes breakage in the stratum corneum which leads to epidermal infection.

Did you know?  Wart infections may resolve spontaneously in several months or a few years. Dermatologists avoid aggressive therapies that can cause scarring.

Underarm Laser

One of the benefits of using laser for underarm hair removal is that it can also aid in whitening and smoothening the lines and textures of your underarms.

You no longer need to subject your skin to harsh, irritating methods. And since laser light targets melanin, the pigment that gives hair its color, you not only reduce those pesky hairs, you are also helping it see the light of day.

Best investment ever.

Grow old, stay young

Seborrheic keratosis, also known as senile wart is a common non-cancerous skin growth which usually appears during adult life.

They appear as black, brown, light tan patches with “stuck on” appearance usually on the face, scalp, neck, chest, or back.

They are harmless and not contagious but may be removed if prone to irritation or you don’t like how they look.

Hormonal Acne

Having a hormonal imbalance can cause you to break-out.

PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) causes the ovaries to overproduce testosterone and other androgens which leads to pimples common in the lower face, jawline, and neck. Symptoms include irregular menses, infertility, being overweight, having coarse hair on areas where fine hair should be typically seen, and dark thick skin on the nape and underarms.
