Traditional meditation techniques, like just focusing on your breathing, while helpful in their own way, do require some effort on your part. It's your job to keep your mind focussed and as clear as possible.
But guided meditations are, quite simply, the easiest way to meditate. My voice, and a calming background music, will gently guide you down a calming path …........... that will lead you into an experience of deep relaxation and inner peace

It’s important to learn how to recognize when your stress levels are out of control. The most dangerous thing about stress is how easily it can creep up on you. You get used to it. It starts to feels familiar – even normal. You don’t notice how much it’s affecting you, even as it takes a heavy toll.

Today I am sharing a very easy relaxation with you, called
The 5 Minute Mindfulness Drink.
You might laugh at the concept of combining a drink with a relaxation technique, but before you dismiss it, take a moment to think about it...and if you are only a little curious, then keep reading.
I use this quick relaxation technique when I am a little stressed or overwhelmed, but I don't have much time. It is based on the idea that everyone has to make time for a drink.
It's quick and easy, wherever you are. The purpose of this is to allow your body and mind to relax and be still for 5 minutes or so. It works with a cold drink or a hot drink.
So, when you need to allow yourself a few moments to relax and gather your thoughts together. Make yourself a drink, sit down and relax for a few moments, let the world pass by while you enjoy your drink. You deserve it.
After you have made your drink of choice simply sit down in a chair with your back straight and close your eyes. Now wrap both your hands around your mug or glass. Focus on the warmth or coolness radiating through the mug into your hands and breathe deeply. Notice how comforting it is to hold this warm mug, or cooling glass between your hands. How this simple act of holding a warm cuppa, or cool drink is soothing and relaxing. Really pay attention and breathe deeply for a couple of minutes.
Then take your first sip and really savour the taste. Focus your mind on the taste. Be aware of how much you enjoy this drink. How the liquid flows over your tongue and down your throat, leaving this wonderful taste that you so appreciate in your mouth.
Continue to slowly sip your drink focussing on the taste and how it makes you feel; how much you enjoy it.
Breathe in the soft aroma of the steam… feel the warmth of the hot drink flowing down into your stomach.
Feel your muscles relaxing as that warmth spreads through your body.
Or on a hot summer’s day you could have a cold drink, perhaps with some ice.
Breathe in the soft coolness of the ice… feel the coolness of the ice melting as it’s flowing down into your stomach.
Feel your muscles relaxing as that refreshing liquid cools your body.
And just begin to allow yourself to let all your cares and worries go... opening up the link to this peaceful, neutral feeling.
As you switch off your thoughts...for a short while just allow some time for yourself...So that you can unwind completely...
Feel your thoughts slowing down, switching off, giving yourself a break. Slowing down and clearing. …… linking in to this peaceful, neutral feeling
And as those thoughts clear away, you make space for positive calm thoughts
And when you’re feeling calm, positive and focused again, you can get on with whatever needs to be done.
