Substack Scholar does not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data. All functionality runs entirely within your browser.
DATA COLLECTION
The extension collects no personal information, browsing history, analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind.
LOCAL STORAGE
The extension saves two settings to your browser's local storage: whether "Hide Notes" is enabled, and whether "Hide Engagement Metrics" is enabled. These values never leave your device and are not sent to any server.
THIRD PARTIES
Substack Scholar makes no external network requests and shares no data with any third party.
PERMISSIONS
- storage — saves your two on/off settings locally
- tabs — checks whether the active tab is a Substack page
- https://*.substack.com/* — injects the content script on Substack pages
