Gwr 3.0 has a user-friendly interface that allows the user to specify different options related to GWR modelling, such as kernel function, bandwidth selection, model selection criterion, and bandwidth optimisation method. It also provides functions to fit semiparametric (partial linear) GWR models, in which the user can mix globally fixed and locally varying explanatory variables simultaneously. Moreover, it offers a new test of geographical variability on geographically varying coefficients and a variable selection routine that automatically selects variables as either fixed or varying terms by recursive model comparisons.
Gwr 3.0 is a standalone Windows application that can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of this article. However, it is no longer supported by the developers and its continued use is not recommended. Instead, users are advised to use the newer version of GWR software, GWR4, which has more features and functions than Gwr 3.0. GWR4 can also be downloaded from the link at the bottom of this article, but the user must register to be able to do so. Alternatively, users can use other software packages that implement GWR, such as GWmodel (an R library of GW modelling functions), spgwr (an R package for estimating gwr models), gwrr (an R package for diagnosing collinearity in GWR models), ArcGIS (a GIS software that provides a GWR tool), SpaceStat (a Windows software that allows GWR models to be fitted), and SAM (a software package for spatial analysis in macroecology that has an implementation of GWR).
