The workshop on Subjectivity and Semantic Interpretation, held as part of NASSLLI 2022 at USC, is a series of talks presenting perspectives on whether and how subjectivity—sensitivity to the perspectives, opinions, or tastes of particular individuals or groups—is involved in semantic interpretation.
The talks will address core questions such as: Where does subjectivity sit at the division between semantics and pragmatics? What sorts of linguistic forms are sensitive to subjectivity, and what is it about them that makes them subjective?
The presentations will create dialogue between formal theoretical, psycholinguistic, and computationally-oriented perspectives perspectives on the topic, incorporating traditional, experimental, and corpus data sources.
The workshop is organized by Elsi Kaiser and Deniz Rudin.
