I am Subhasish Modak Chowdhury (শুভাশীষ মোদক চৌধুরী) or Subho, a Professor at the University of Sheffield - where I serve as the Director of the BRAINS (Behavioural Research Alliance for Impact and Networks at Sheffield) research centre, and lead the Behavioural Economics Research Group.
I am a microeconomist with research interests in contest theory, behavioral economics, industrial organization etc. Please see my research page or Curriculum Vitae for further details.

I joined the Journal of Competition Law & Economics as an Associate Editor.
In January 2026, we organized a British Council funded workshop on The Economics of Gender.
On July 07-08, 2025 I co-organized a Conference on ‘Advances in Industrial Organization and Competition Policy’ – in honour of Prof. Stephen Martin, at the University of Reading.
