HISTORY
Our SCN sisters came to India with a mission to feed the starving and promote dignity and equality amongst the society. Their mission in India began in 1947 when the six pioneer sisters from Nazareth, Kentucky arrived at Mokama, Bihar to spread the legacy of their co-founderess, Mother Catherine Spalding. The Sisters of charity of Nazareth have risked their lives and worked day and night to nurse the sick, educate the poor, visiting homes of the needy etc.
Today we are filled with pride and honour to be a part of the SCN congregation, which teaches us that love and sacrifice are the true paths towards fulfilling our Dharma and attaining Moksha or Salvation.
St Vincent is the patron saint of all charitable works and is recognised worldwide for his charity and compassion towards people in need. He was born on 24 April, 1581 in France and died on 27 September 1737. Hence we celebrate the feast of St. Vincent de Paul on 27 September every year.
