Survey sites: Not Rewarding but Work!
Survey websites: It's not a reward!
This is a little bug-bare of mine and I wonder if you feel the same. When you complete surveys for a website you exchange that work for a 'reward'. That reward can be points, direct money, vouchers or something physical. Whatever it is, it'll usually take a while to be able to redeem for your 'prize'. Anyway, I dislike how most, if not all, survey websites describe your incentive as a 'reward'.
What you are doing for these companies, make no mistake, is WORK. I'm not saying that this opportunity to earn a bit extra isn't appreciated by many. But considering the time and effort taken, most of the time your not receiving an incentive even close to what you should be. For me, the term 'reward' makes it sound like you have taken part in a bit of fun, something that's not time-consuming to make any kind of money. And of course it is all of that.
When you complete surveys you are doing self-employed, work from home, freelancing-what ever you want to call it-work. And it is work. What you need to be getting for all this data and work you are putting into survey sites is PAYMENT. And I think the survey sites should treat their service more in that way.
I know that technically the term 'reward' isn't wrong, some might say that a job 'rewards' but that is not typically said when describing payment! We expect to be paid for work and we should be! Do you see where I'm coming from with this?
