"La Meta" is a special internship program through which a student learns about Mexican education and teaching in action. During the program, students will have the opportunity to improve his fluency in Spanish language, learn about Latin American civilizations from historical and contemporary perspectives and develop a wide understanding of the education in Mexico. Students will complete a precisely designed program of coursework and gain valuable field experience by interacting with Mexican children in their classrooms.


One of the integral parts of "La Meta" is that, after participating in the program, the student will have advanced Spanish proficiency skills. Therefore, enrollment in Spanish language courses is required during the year.


What it is la meta program?

"La Meta" is always Type C internship, meaning that the workload is between 6 and 8 hours per day. "La Meta" differs from the normal internship programs since it goes on for the whole year (fall and spring semesters) and at least intermediate level of Spanish is required in order to apply.

During the both semesters student needs to pass at least 15 units. In case student has a higher level of Spanish, the Spanish language courses can be replaced with other Spanish courses.

SEMESTER 1 (FALL)

Spanish Language (Advanced 1 or Advanced 2) - 10 ECTS / 6US CREDITS

Education, Culture and Thought in Mexico - 5 ECTS / 3US CREDITS

Internship in a Mexican Private School - 5 ECTS / 3US CREDITS

Social and Cultural History of Latin America - 5 ECTS / 3US CREDITS

SEMESTER 2 (SPRING)
