Study Partner does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or user information. All processes happen entirely locally on your device:
User Interaction Tracking: The extension monitors interaction events (such as mouse movements and keystrokes) strictly within the local context of your open browser tab. This is used solely to detect inactivity and trigger the automated video pause feature. This data is never logged, saved, or sent anywhere.
Local Storage: Any configurations or preferences you adjust (like changing the countdown duration or timer thresholds) are saved locally on your own machine using the browser’s native chrome.storage API.
No Remote Servers: Study Partner does not connect to any external databases or remote servers.
No Data Sharing: Because we do not collect any data, we do not—and cannot—sell, trade, or transfer any information to third parties.
No Remotely Hosted Code: The extension operates using 100% local, pre-packaged code to ensure your browsing remains secure and independent of external script injections.
To function properly, the extension requests the following browser permissions:
storage: Used to remember your customized focus settings across browsing sessions.
Host Permissions : Required to detect your (as user) interaction events (such as mouse movements and keystrokes) and execute the pause command dynamically to support many web pages where a user initiates a video-based study session.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications to the extension. Any changes will be updated directly on this page.
