I am a Professor in Economics at the University of Strathclyde.

I am also a Research Associate at the Office for National Statistics supported Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence

I am also on the editorial board of the ESRC funded Economics Observatory which bridges the gap between academic research, government policy and the general public.

I am also a Research Affiliate at the Regional Research Institute at West Virginia University

My primary areas of research are in regional and applied economics, with a focus on the development of policy-relevant economic research.
