1. Overview

Super Text Spreader is a Google Chrome browser extension that provides tools for resizing, highlighting, recoloring, annotating, copying, and printing webpage content.

The extension also includes Spreader Quest, an optional browser-based fantasy roguelike game that transforms content from currently open browser tabs into playable adventures.

This Privacy Policy explains how Super Text Spreader accesses, processes, stores, and protects information.

Super Text Spreader is designed to operate primarily within your browser. The reviewed version does not include developer-operated analytics, advertising services, or servers that collect browsing information.

2. Information We Access

Webpage Customization

To provide its editing and customization features, Super Text Spreader may access webpage elements, site hostnames, element selectors, and formatting preferences.

These preferences may include text sizes, highlighting, colors, zoom settings, and whether the extension is enabled.

Spreader Quest Game

When you choose to launch Spreader Quest, the extension processes information from your selected webpage and up to seven other open browser tabs to create game environments.

This information may include:

This information is used to generate game environments, characters, scenery, and other gameplay elements.

Because the game processes open webpages, information from signed-in websites may be included. Depending on your open tabs, this could include personal information or communications displayed on those pages.

We recommend closing sensitive webpages before starting a game.

The game does not intentionally extract passwords, authentication cookies, or values typed into webpage input fields.

Copy Area as Image

When you explicitly use the Copy Area as Image feature, Super Text Spreader captures the visible browser tab, crops the selected region, and copies the resulting image to your clipboard.

This feature is separate from Spreader Quest. The game does not use browser screenshots to generate levels.

Game Preferences

Game settings, including your selected UI scaling preference, are saved locally in your browser.

3. How We Use Information

Information accessed by Super Text Spreader is used to provide its advertised functionality, including:

We do not use extension-derived information for behavioral advertising, user profiling, credit decisions, or resale.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

Super Text Spreader does not upload webpage text, open-tab lists, saved customizations, or generated game data to a server operated by the extension publisher.

The reviewed version does not contain advertising SDKs or publisher-operated analytics services.

External Website Images

Spreader Quest may request images directly from the websites hosting those images to display artwork and scenery.

Those websites may receive standard network information, such as your IP address, the requested image URL, and the time of the request.

The privacy policies of those websites apply to their own services.

Clipboard Content

Images copied with Super Text Spreader are placed on your device's clipboard. If you paste or share those images through another application, that application's privacy practices apply.

Super Text Spreader does not sell extension-derived user data to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Storage and Retention

Super Text Spreader uses Chrome's local extension storage to save information needed for its features.

Locally stored information may include:

Saved preferences remain until they are changed, reset, cleared, or removed with the extension.

Generated game data may remain locally until a newer game replaces it or the extension's stored data is cleared.

Version 5.11.2 does not automatically delete generated game data after a fixed period.

Images copied to your clipboard remain subject to your browser and operating system's clipboard behavior.

6. Data Security

Super Text Spreader stores its extension data within your Chrome browser profile.

The security of this locally stored information depends on Chrome, your operating system, and your device's security settings.

Anyone with access to your unlocked browser profile or clipboard may be able to view information stored there.

Super Text Spreader does not request access to saved passwords or authentication cookies through Chrome's dedicated credential APIs.

7. Your Privacy Choices

You control how you use Super Text Spreader.

You can:

Restricting website access may prevent some extension features from functioning on those websites.

8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Compliance

Super Text Spreader's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Information obtained through Chrome permissions is used solely to provide the extension's disclosed functionality.

We do not sell this information, use it for personalized advertising, or transfer it for unrelated purposes, creditworthiness assessments, or lending decisions.

9. Children's Privacy

Super Text Spreader is a general-purpose browser utility with an optional game and is not specifically directed toward children.

We do not knowingly operate a service that collects children's personal information on publisher-controlled servers.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Super Text Spreader introduces new features or changes how information is accessed, processed, or stored.

The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made.

Where required, we will provide additional disclosures or obtain consent before introducing materially different data practices.
