Overseas Travel

To All Driving Course Trainees,

As of 01 Apr 2022, those that wish to travel overseas (e.g. Malaysia) are allowed to go only when permission is granted by their Frame Commander.

The following are the conditions laid out for trainees that wish to travel.

1) Trainees are allowed to travel during the weekend and on public holidays only. This is to minimise any impact on your training. Any request to travel during the weekdays are approved on a case-by-case basis.

2) Any trainee that wishes to travel are required to inform your Frame Commander, 3 WORKING DAYS prior to the departure date.

3) If approved, your frame commander will provide you with a form to fill up. You are to read every question as well as pointers and answer it truthly/accurately.

3a) You are required to arrive in Singapore on your last day by 2200HRS.

This is to ensure that you have sufficient rest for the next day’s training.

If you are unable to reach Singapore by then due to urgent matters, you are to inform your frame commander.

Those that arrive late without clearance by your frame commander will be punished accordingly.

3b) If your trip is delayed to the following day due to any reason, you will be instructed to use your leaves to cover for your absence.

You are not allowed to use your OFFs.

Days not supported by leaves, will cause your NS liability to extend.

1. Can only be applied during the Weekend (Saturday - Sunday)

2. Inform your Frame Commander 1 week in advanced

3. You are to arrive by 2200Hrs on your last day.

   • If unable to do so, extension/leave application must be approved.

   • Thos who fail to do so, will be punished accordingly

4. If your trip is delayed to the following weekday due to any reason, you will be instructed to use your leaves to cover for your absence.

   • You are not allowed to use your OFFs.

   • Days not supported by leaves, will cause your NS liability to extend.

5. ALL expenses (inbound/outbound/during the travel) will be SELF-FUNDED and cannot be claimed.
