Stream Mate Pro — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 September 2026
This policy explains what information the Stream Mate Pro application collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
Stream Mate Pro is the paid edition of Stream Mate. It is a separate application (com.stream.mate.mobile.pro) with a separate policy because it collects less: it contains no advertising. If you are looking for the free edition's policy, it is at https://sites.google.com/view/streammate
The short version
Stream Mate Pro is a media player. It does not host or supply any channels, films or shows — you supply your own playlist. Your playlist address and credentials stay on your device. There is no advertising and no advertising identifier is read. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you give us
- Playlist details. The playlist address (M3U or Xtream) and any username and password you enter. These are stored on your device and are sent only to the playlist provider you chose, in order to load your content. We do not receive them.
- Account details. Signing in is optional — the app works fully without an account, and accounts are set up for you by your provider rather than created inside the app. If you have one, we store the username you sign in with and a cryptographically hashed version of your password on our servers, together with the playlist assigned to your account. Where that username is an email address, or you give us one when contacting support, it is held in the same record.
1.2 Device information
If you create an account or sign in — by either method — the app registers the device against your account on our servers. That record contains:
- A device identifier. The network hardware ("MAC") address where the operating system still makes it available; on most modern Android devices it does not, and the Android ID (a per-device, per-app-signer value) is used instead. This is not an advertising identifier, and it is not used for advertising.
- Device characteristics. Model and brand, operating system, the Stream Mate Pro version you are running, and the device's total and available storage.
We use this to recognise your device on later sign-ins and to enforce the number of devices your plan allows.
- Root status. The app checks whether the device appears to be rooted, solely to display an advisory warning. That check's result is not sent to us. (Crash reports produced by Google Crashlytics separately include a rooted-device flag — see section 1.3.)
1.3 Crash and stability diagnostics
We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix defects. When the app misbehaves it sends a report containing the technical details of the failure (stack trace, the app version, and log messages the app recorded leading up to it) together with the state of the device at the time — model and manufacturer, operating system version, memory and storage state, orientation, and whether the device appears to be rooted. Each report carries a Firebase installation identifier so repeated crashes from the same installation can be grouped, and Google receives your IP address as part of the upload.
These reports are pseudonymous rather than anonymous: we do not attach your name or email address to them, but the installation identifier is specific to your copy of the app. Crash reporting is active from the moment the app starts, because a crash during startup is exactly what it exists to capture.
This is the only component in Stream Mate Pro that sends information to a third party.
1.4 Stored only on your device
Favourites, watchlist, continue-watching positions, downloaded playlist content, and your app settings are kept locally on your device and are not uploaded to us. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling removes them.
2. What Stream Mate Pro does not collect
This edition ships without the advertising components that the free edition contains. Specifically:
- No advertising. The app shows no banner, in-row or full-screen ads and contacts no advertising network. The Google Mobile Ads and User Messaging Platform libraries are not included in the application at all, so no advertising identifier is read or transmitted, and no advertising consent form is shown — there is nothing to consent to.
- No approximate location. Nothing in the app derives or transmits a location from your IP address.
3. How we use information
- To load and play the playlist you supplied.
- To sign you in and associate the correct playlist with your account, if you chose to register.
- To diagnose crashes and improve the app's reliability.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information.
4. Who we share information with
- Your playlist provider. Your playlist requests and credentials go directly from your device to whichever provider you configured. We are not a party to that.
- Google. For crash reporting only.
- Legal requests. We may disclose information where we are legally required to.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.
5. How long we keep it
Account information is kept for as long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, the associated records — including your username and the registered device records described in section 1.2 — are removed. Data held only on your device is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Crash data is retained by Google according to Google's own retention policies.
6. Security
Account passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the limited amount of personal data involved.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these — including deleting your account — write to us at the address below and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
8. Children
Stream Mate Pro is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Our servers and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards for the transfer.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes to what the app collects will also trigger a fresh consent prompt inside the app.
