The Strayhorn Cross Country Camp is a distance running camp for runners of all experience levels entering grades 4-9. This year we are offering two camp sessions. XC Camp Session 1 will be a 5-day running experience taking place June 5-June 9. XC Camp Session 2 will be a 5-day running experience taking place June 19-June 23. Each day of distance running experience will be held from 9:00 am–12:00 pm. Both camps offer easy runs for runners wanting to experience a fun introduction to distance running and challenging runs for more experienced runners wanting a more demanding running and strength training experience.

The Strayhorn Cross Country Camp features group runs through the trails of Castlewood State Park, lessons on pre-running and post-running stretching techniques, proper warm-up routine, nutrition, hydration, teaching and reinforcement of proper running form, strength-training techniques, as well as team building and fun! All camp participants will receive a camp t-shirt. Campers will meet daily at Ladue Fifth Grade Center and take a bus to and from Castlewood State Park. The camp is staffed by Cross Country Coach Matt Strayhorn, along with high school and collegiate runners.
Strayhorn XC Camp Details:
Who: Runners of all experience levels entering grades 4-9
Where: Castlewood State Park
When: Session 1 (5 days): Monday June 5 - Friday June 9, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Session 2 (5 days): Monday June 19 - Friday June 23, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Cost: Session 1: $200 per camper
Session 2: $200 per camper
Both Sessions: $360 per camper - SAVE $40! (same camper must attend both weeks)
Transportation: Campers will be dropped off and picked up at Castlewood State Park - A list of campers attending will be provided for carpooling purposes.
Sign up deadline: To ensure you receive a camp shirt, please sign up by May 26th. More information and reminder emails will be sent prior to the first day of camp.
Refund Policy: A full refund will be issued with any request made two (2) weeks prior to the first day of the camp. Any other refunds will be less $25.00.
