Each class needs Room Parent(s) and Garden Parents! Please sign up in your teacher’s classroom at Back to School Night on Thursday, September 4th!
Classroom volunteers are a vital component of the support our teachers need for running the classroom during the school year. You will be asked by your teacher and Room Parent/s to volunteer your time toward such things as: assisting with reading & math units, student assignments, homework/take home folders, Library, Garden, Art, classroom supplies, driving for field trips, class traffic duty, PTA events and class/grade celebrations. You can also sign up to be the dedicated garden parent and join the class when they go to the garden.
Set up & host the monthly PTA Coffee Cart, organize & set up the Book Fair Family Event in December and the Teacher, Staff & Volunteer Luncheon in May. Host the End of Year Picnic & International Potluck in June, and assist with other Hospitality-related events & tasks as needed.
Help SPS PTA meet its fundraising goals by promoting the Make A Difference fundraising campaign, reaching out to local businesses, restaurants & organizations for their support of the SPS PTA, talk to SPS parents about hosting the famous (and fun!) Parent Parties, and more!
Take photos at SPS events and around campus for use in this year's yearbook, the What's Up, the SPS PTA Instagram page and more. No professional expertise needed!
Be a part of the team that puts out the What's Up newsletter, updates the Marquee Board, puts out the website and gets the word out about what is going on at Strawberry Point!
Work with a great group on this year's Yearbook. Organize photos, work with the 5th Grade portrait photographer, run the Student Cover Art contest, promote sales and put out a yearbook that students & families will love!
Calling 4th grade parents to help the 5th grade class to relax and enjoy their special day. Each year the 4th grade class organizes the 5th grade promotion. This includes decorations and an outdoor reception immediately following the morning ceremony. This is a fun way to be a part of the festivities and see what graduation will look like for your child. Set up, light snacks and drinks, light decorations and clean up on the last day of school. With a small team this is easy and loads of fun!
Every year the 5th grade parents organize a graduation pool party at SRD (paid for by PTA). Supervise the party, plan music, snacks, drinks, and a few games. Ensure waivers are signed.
The garden is a hands-on outdoor plant laboratory and habitat for children to explore. Our Garden Educator, Steve Fisher, will help to guide you in the Garden and Wetlands. There will be selected group garden days for parent or family volunteers, and some jobs that can be done on your own time on out-of-school hours.
