VOLUNTEER

SKES PTA is responsible for many projects, events, and activities at Strawberry Knoll. We ALWAYS need volunteers and we encourage you to become involved in a way that suits your family and your schedule. Choosing to volunteer in our school community is a powerful way to show our children that we value their education and support our school. We have many opportunities for everyone, even if you have just one hour to give. You do NOT need to be a PTA member to volunteer.

We currently have OPEN volunteer coordinator positions and are looking for another MCCPTA delegate. Please review the open positions on the About page and contact the VP of Volunteers if interested.

Volunteer opportunities for specific events will be sent via the e-list and posted to Facebook and Twitter.

Volunteer Training on Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect

All volunteers who regularly support schools and students and those who attend field trips MUST complete the Child Abuse and Neglect volunteer training. This online training module provides guidance for volunteers to help keep students safe. Since the inception of the volunteer training in January 2016, nearly 63,000 volunteers have completed the online training.

Parents or guardians who are employees, contractors or volunteers in schools must follow the MCPS reporting protocol. All MCPS employees, contractors and volunteers are mandated reporters.

The training is required every three years. If volunteer training was taken in:
