REV. DR. JONATHAN D. LAWRENCE

Rev. Dr. Jonathan David Lawrence was ordained in the American Baptist Churches in 1998. He started as a supply preacher at St. Peters in 2013 and has been the Pastor since then. Prior to that he was Co-Pastor at his home church, First Baptist Church of Niagara Falls and did supply preaching at many other churches in the area. He is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies and Theology at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, where he has taught since 2005.

He is active in Interfaith dialogue in the Buffalo area and serves on the Boards for the Network of Religious Communities, Rainies Closet, and The Church Lab (based in Austin, TX). He is currently studying the history of Buffalo's religious communities and is writing role-playing simulations about religious topics for use in the classroom. He also serves as an instructor in pastoral education programs for the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist Church, and other groups.
