The novel follows Gil, Hammen, and Millie on their adventures at Hazeltop as they study branches of magic. As the weeks go on, a strange mist begins appearing around the school. Curiosity turns to alarm as the mist begins to evolve, and Gil is determined to solve the mystery. He must choose to trust his friends and band together to save Hazeltop before it's too late.

Between being in trouble and getting out of it, Davis Jester doesn't have time for studies. The more Davis rises, however, the more he realizes the prestigious position is not all fun and games.
