Story Circles

My name is mica I am a musical storyteller that facilitates workshops that inspire reflection, connection and celebration.

A story circle is a tailer made workshop where we gather together to share stories, play games, sing and connect. I will come with a story or two based on a particular theme that we want to explore.

This could be anything from nature to something more abstract like courage or trust. It could be a myth, a wonder tale or a teaching tale. After I have shared the story there will be time for reflections and exercises around the story. Often ending with song and celebration.

Story opens up doorways that we wouldn't normally go through. Gives us a way into sharing and connecting with one another whilst watering our imaginations.

These sessions bring us the opportunity to connect in a deeper way than we normally would. They create a space for us to be heard. Deepen our connection with ourselves and one another. They build confidence and self- esteem and bring lots of laughter and joy.

A little about me:

I am a musical storyteller and Master Neuro Linguistic Programmer. (NLP). I've worked with children, young people and adults for the last 10 years working with drama, story, music and movement to deliver workshops that inspire us to explore different themes and find new ways of relating with the world. I aim to bring playfulness as a balm to calm the heart. Combining my love of life, music, and story to create spaces that build confidence and cultivate curiosity.

It is know that while we share stories, we are also improving our mental health and well-being.

‘Stories are the way we understand and make sense of the world we find ourselves in.’ says Clare Patey, Director of the Empathy Museum.

The sessions can last between 1 and 2 hours depending on the group.

An brief outline of a session will be:

A warm welcome

A short sharing circle

games to bring us into our bodies and helping us feel comfortable

a story

reflection on the story

a few exercises inspired from the story

ending sharing and celebration

The aim of these sessions is to cultivate connection, build self confidence and nurture the heart whilst having a lot of fun and laughter. As everyone loves a good story these sessions always seem to go down a treat.
