Who am I?

Hello and Namaste,

My name is Shaunalee McKean (but please don’t call me that, I hate it! I prefer Lyrik) and I am a 35 year old Nordic Shaman currently living in Utah, USA. I worked with wolves for over 15 years and only stopped due to my various medical conditions. I have been published in Wolf Warriors: The National Wolfwatcher Coalition Anthology, a charity driven book to help wolves in the wild and in Earth Island‘s online journal in an article about wolf-dogs where education is sorely needed and I am a survivor of abuse and assault and suffer from a large number of physical and mental ailments but have harnessed these experiences and turned them into creativity and determination.

I have been an artist for all my life but have never had any formal teaching in the area. My traditional art can be found at StormLyriks; my gallery online.

I decided to peruse my passion for art and try to turn it into something more and have always wanted to learn digital art and design. College is a huge challenge for me. Aside from the conditions mentioned, I am going this alone. I have no family to look to for support. My online friends have become my support and I wouldn’t be here if not for them.

I would love to work in Video Game concept and design or work with companies designing models for card or figure based RPGs. Even if it is designing logos for wildlife organizations and doesn’t turn out to in the realm of games, I would feel extremely accomplished. The chance to use my talents to make a living would be a dream come true.

I work hard and look forward to the challenges and successes here at Independence University and greatly look forward to being able to apply my skill and passion.
