LABORATORY FOR THE STUDY OF NEO-KANTIANISM
LABORATORY FOR THE STUDY OF NEO-KANTIANISM
We are a research group based at the Department of Humanities of the University Federico II in Naples, with scholars from different institutions.
We are interested in the study of neo-Kantianism in the broadest sense of the word.
Neo-Kantianism was one of the epoch-making intellectual movements in Western philosophy in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Kant’s thought provided philosophers with a conceptual lingua franca and a set of common principles and problems.
This allowed thinkers from different backgrounds and with different philosophical solutions to participate in a cohesive cultural movement.
Neo-Kantianism thus goes far beyond the two Schools of Marburg and SouthWestern neo-Kantianism.
Our goal is to promote the study of neo-Kantianism in all its facets among professors, researchers and students through the following activities:
- development and realization of research projects
- meetings and group discussions among the members of the laboratory
- seminars and conferences with national and international hosts.
