Bowie State University student Eunique N. Jones says she fears that the ideals of Greek protocol could step off line. Jones would like to stomp out any misconstrued ideas the youth may have picked up from the film.

Stepping is a complex performance that blends together African traditions with popular culture. It involves synchronized dramatic movement, singing and chanting. Stepping in a yard show or formal probate is a coming-out for black fraternities and sororities to represent their respective fraternity or sorority and to show off their new members.

Ne-Yo: Stepping itself takes a lot of hand-eye coordination that I didn't have before this movie, I'll say that much. So yeah, it was a little difficult to capture the moves. Then again, it's more than just the moves -- there's a whole essence and vibe to what stepping is. You can't just get onstage and clap your hands and stomp your feet. There's a whole attitude that goes with it that we had to learn; there were a lot of actual Greeks on set that showed us what it was, and how it's supposed to look.

OK so Ive been around Gay black males most of my entire life. In fact, as there are so few out black gay men around me now, I can truly say I feel the lack. Maybe that was my impetus to see what has to be the GAYEST movie ever. Of course, Im talking about Stomp the yard.

For those people that love dance movies, stomp the yard brings new ideas and moves to the screen. The movie unlike other many dance films enhances the importance of uniformity when performing as a crew. It is a truly captivating film that is fun and educative to watch.

In other words, he joined negativity and bias to prepare his message; he laced up his boots and took it to the yard, under the assumption that he was the only competitor, no one to contend his hissing or his muscle, the world heard him sing. But when he finished, there was another warrior patiently waiting; this competitor was calm and steadfast. This competitor came, not for a show, but to battle. Truth was the battleground and message. He will not be a martyr; in this battle for respect, truth will not be the fallen warrior, that destiny is for ignorance and bias. Congratulations to the author, he is the first casualty from a 'Stomp the Yard' at Virginia Tech.

Winston threw a 17-yard screen pass to Charles Sims on third-and-6 to extend another drive, hit Evans for 25 yards and connected with Vincent Jackson over the middle for a 13-yard TD on the first play of the second quarter.

The Eagles answered quickly as Sanchez hit Darren Sproles for a 35-yard TD on a screen pass. But the Buccaneers came right back. Martin ran for 3 yards on fourth-and-1 and Winston tossed a 14-yard pass to Sims for a 28-14 lead.

Edwards had nine catches for 112 yards, going over 100 for the second straight game.

The victory ensured Michigan at least a share of the Big Ten lead heading into its traditional season finale against Ohio State next weekend in Michigan Stadium. Michigan (9-2, 6-1 Big Ten) is tied atop the standings with No. 4 Ohio State, which eked out a 16-13 overtime win against Purdue on Saturday. Michigan's victory is the fifth straight for the Wolverines, who have outscored opponents 193-82 in those five wins.

Senior quarterback John Navarre (Cudahy, Wis./Cudahy HS) played a little more than three quarters to earn his 30th career victory in 40 starts. Navarre completed 22 of 31 pass attempts for 288 yards and two touchdowns. Navarre has thrown at least one touchdown pass in every game this season. He now has thrown 69 touchdown passes in his career, leaving him two short of the school record of 71 set by Elvis Grbac (1989-92).

Senior tailback Chris Perry (Advance, N.C./Fork Union Military Academy, Va.) turned in his second straight 100-yard game on the road. He carried 25 times for 122 yards and scored on touchdown runs of two and one yards in the first half. Perry, who has rushed for 1,435 yards this season, also caught five passes for 50 yards.

Junior wide receiver Braylon Edwards (Detroit, Mich./Bishop Gallagher HS) finished with nine catches for 112 yards and a touchdown. Edwards has caught a career-high 68 passes this season, exceeding his 67 receptions last season.

The Wolverines' special teams also contributed. Freshman Jerome Jackson (Saginaw, Mich./Saginaw HS) recovered a Northwestern fumble on a kickoff return to set up Michigan's third touchdown. Redshirt freshman Steve Breaston (North Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills HS) had an 80-yard touchdown return of a punt wiped out by an offsides penalty. It was the second time this season that Breaston has had a punt return for a touchdown called back because of a penalty.

Michigan scored on its opening possession for just the second time this season, moving 65 yards in nine plays. Perry capped the drive with a two-yard touchdown run on his fourth carry of the drive. Navarre completed all four of his passes for 50 yards. Northwestern responded with a 35-yard field goal by junior Brian Huffman for its only points of the first half.

The Wolverines missed a 42-yard field-goal attempt on their next possession, but then drove 60 yards in six plays to set up a 23-yard field goal by freshman Garrett Rivas (Tampa, Fla./Jesuit HS) three seconds into the second quarter.

On Northwestern's next possession, Massey forced a fumble by Northwestern quarterback Brett Basanez that LeSueur recovered at the Wildcats' 38-yard line. From there, the Wolverines needed nine plays to take a 17-3 lead. Perry carried six times during the drive for 26 yards, and he ran one yard for the touchdown. An apparent 20-yard touchdown run on a reverse by Edwards was nullified by a holding penalty.

The Wolverines got the ball back on the following kickoff when Northwestern return man Derell Jenkins fumbled the ball and Jackson recovered at the Northwestern 26-yard line. From there, Navarre fired a strike to Edwards just in front of the left marker at the goal line, and he stepped into the end zone for the touchdown with 10:21 remaining.

Starting at their own 36 with 8:11 remaining, the Wolverines needed 11 plays to score their fourth touchdown of the half. Navarre completed all four of his passes during the drive, including a 22-yarder that sophomore Jason Avant (Chicago, Ill./Carver HS) hauled in with one hand for the touchdown.

Mason Rudolph threw for 229 yards and two scores. Running back, part-time wide receiver and occasional wildcat quarterback Jaylen Samuels accounted for 134 yards of total offense and a 2-yard touchdown run. James Conner emerged from an early funk to run for 42 yards and catch eight passes for 83 yards and a score. The defense sacked Andy Dalton eight times and held the Bengals scoreless over the final 51 minutes.

"We knew if we could get a lot of guys going sideways, it was going to mess them up a little bit so that's what we did," Samuels said. "It was working. ... We were picking up five, six yards every play. They couldn't stop it."

Samuels ran for 26 yards on 10 carries, caught eight passes for 57 more and was credited with three completions for 31 yards. Conner had 14 touches for 125 yards in all, including a 21-yard sprint through the Cincinnati defense in the second quarter that gave the Steelers a lead they never came close to squandering while beating the Bengals for the ninth straight time.

The eight sacks Dalton endured were a career-high for the nine-year veteran, who also threw an end zone interception in the fourth quarter and was strip-sacked by Pittsburgh's outside linebacker Bud Dupree in the second quarter. T.J. Watt fell on the ball and the Steelers were off and running. Dalton finished 21 of 37 for 171 yards, stressing he felt "fine" physically and that he's not panicking.

Sony Classics widened its Chinese historical epic "Curse of the Golden Flower" from 55 sites in limited release to 1,234 theaters nationwide and collected an estimated $2M. That gave the Zhang Yimou drama a flimsy average of only $1,624 with a total to date of $4.4M. Moviegoers were more in the mood for dancers stomping than daggers flying. 2351a5e196
