HELP US FIND THE NEXT TOP GAMES DEVELOPER!
See below for the game prototypes created relating to this theme. All of these were made in just one week as part of Stoke ON TREND GamesJam hosted by Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID and Staffordshire University, mainly by Foundation Year and First Year students across games courses at Staffordshire University.
They might be a little rough around the edges due to the timeframe in which they were made, but we're sure you'll agree that they hold great promise and potential.
Some games are playable via your mobile phone right here in the city centre, whereas some you will need to download onto your PC. However, they all do feature videos of gameplay so that you can get a taste for the game and see how it works; be sure to make a note of your favourites so that you can play them at home later!
We need your help though as YOUR VOTE will help decide which game is the winner, earning its creators the ultimate prize... The opportunity to work in a studio style environment at the Staffordshire University for a six-week period over the summer of 2021 with access to the University’s commercial licenses to turn their game into a commercially releasable game.

Phantom Hall is a point-and-click 2D side-scroller based around the given theme of Victoria Hall and games utilising the escape room concept. The game is made up of 4 areas:
- A glass-roof atrium featuring a rock musician ghost from the building's year of construction (1988)
- An under-stage area featuring a classic orchestra ghost
- A modern staging area featuring a comedian ghost

The basic idea was that it was going to be a rhythm game where queen Victoria would spit guards at you and had to jump over the secret service guys and punch the beefeaters until you could fight the queen herself.
It's 1888, day of the inauguration of Victoria Hall. Just before the big ceremony, a mischievous mouse decides to steal the ceremonial key! Play as the little rodent and escape the guards who are trying to catch you. Platform your way around the backstage of the theatre, solving puzzles in order to escape, while also making time for some delicious cheese on the way out!
