A Tiny Prairie Cathedral

A Place Where Their Hearts Lie

1907–1908: The church is constructed in Medicine Lodge Coulee with donated land, pioneer labor, and timber. 

1916: Cemetery has its first internments.

1969: The final regular services are held by the diocese. 

1992: The building undergoes an extensive restoration, adding electricity and insulation.

Present Day: The site is managed by volunteers via the Medicine Lodge Coulee Heritage Society, hosting non-denominational services, weddings, and nearly 1,600 visitors annually.

Our next work party and annual general meeting of the Medicine Lodge Coulee Association takes place on June 27, 2026, from 9am to noon, at the church.  If you want to join us, bring supplies to work in the cemetery (yard supplies) and pack a lunch.  Hope to see you there!
