Cat.Chat VBS: Cathletics in July 2024

This Catholic VBS is an Olympic/Sports-themed program where kids will be inspired to set GOALS and AIM for a commitment to excellence in their Catholic faith.  

Cathletics VBS will focus on TRAINING kids in the Word of God with teachings on: The Greatest Commandments, 10 Commandments, Beatitudes, Fruits of the Spirit, and Evangelization.

Vacation Bible School is for children 5-12 years old or rising Kindergarten through rising 6th graders.  Our 2024 VBS week will be Monday-Friday July 15-19 from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church in their School Building.

• Costs for the whole week, including a T-Shirt: 

  • $10/kid or max $30/family EARLY BIRD before May 31st

  • $15/kid or max $45/family after June 1 until spaces filled.  

  • Children of Adult volunteers: free! 

  • Payment via Venmo (@stlbcatchatvbs), cash, or check made out to Lorrie Kenney (per request of the parish).

Volunteers: we need your help!

• • All students and adults ages 13 and up are encouraged to volunteer -  sign ups are available for teenagers on this website.  Adults should contact our VBS coordinator at stlbcatchatvbs@gmail.com.  

  • Teen Volunteers should arrive no later 8:30 AM to prepare for the day.  Adult volunteers should also arrive at 8:15 to prepare for the students’ arrival at 8:30!

  • All Volunteers 18 and older must have completed the Archdiocese of Louisville Safe Environment Training. No other diocese training will be acceptable.  Sessions are available on 5/7, 5/9, 6/10, 6/11, and 6/26.

Plan for the Week

• VBS will be at St. Louis Bertrand's school building.  Check-in via BACK DOOR of the elevator hallway, Parking Lot on 6th Street. 

  • Please bring your children promptly so they can enjoy the opening assembly. 

  • Families are encouraged to attend daily Noon Mass with us and pick up their children afterwards. 

• Friday Family Luncheon: 12:30-2 PM. Come see what your children have learned this week during our annual celebration, this year sponsored by the Knights of the Columbus! 

• This year's songs are available to stream via Soundcloud and via their apps on iPhones and Android devices.  We will not be arranging a group purchase of the physical CDs this year, but they are available via the Cat.Chat store.
