OCIA/RCIA Order/Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Adults seeking to join the Catholic Church and receive the Sacraments are invited to pray, learn, and reflect on their journey of faith and teachings of the Church.  Your journey of faith, guided by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, has brought you to seek a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Holy Church.  Our time together in prayer, at mass, and in classes will be a gradual process of reflection and discovery of the Paschal Mystery.  The Parish family of St. Lawrence supports you in your journey with prayer, fellowship, and service.

The OCIA is a process in which participants “undergo…conversion as they study the Gospel, profess faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments." (USCCB, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops)

L.I.F.E. Living in Faith Everyday

L.I.F.E. Stories: Before leaving earth, Jesus gave his disciples a mission: "Go and make disciples of all nations." This is our mission, too.  We are called to live our lives in faith every day, sharing God's love with others.  As Christians, we want to do this - we don't always know how to do this.  Most of us don't feel qualified, and so we don't even try.  And yet, we see ordinary people are doing extraordinary things.  We marvel at their courage, dedication and love for others - and we wonder - how do they do it?

LIFE Stories is a new monthly series of talks presentated by ordinary people who are living in faith every day.  These are people from the Archdiocese, from the community, and from the parish, who bring the Gospel to the people in their lives.

You will learn how they came to understand what God wanted them to do,

how God has equipped them for their mission,

and how they are quietly or publicly fulfilling that mission in their daily lives.
Their stories are fascinating and inspiring.  All are welcome to join us each month for an evening of illumination, stimulation, and encouragement, followed by fellowship in the Social Hall.

"I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me."  St. Paul

Bread of Life - The Eucharist in Galilee

Christ's teaching about the Eucharist was not reserved solely for the Last Supper. Rather, this profound mystery is the crescendo of Jesus' entire ministry: all his work in Galilee prepared for and pointed to the Eucharist. Join Dr. Tim Gray in Bread of Life: The Eucharist in Galilee for an exciting five-part series about Jesus' teaching on the Eucharist.
