In addition to the core competencies, First Grade is a crucial time to instill a love of reading. We begin with the fundamentals, build fluency, and hopefully end the year with avid readers!

About Me

I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was only in fourth grade! I'm so glad I stuck to that decision. I love the joy, energy, and enthusiasm of first graders.

I'm married to Cliff Burmester, have two wonderful step-children, a beautiful 4-year-old granddaughter named Amelia, and an adorable dog named Holly.

I enjoy reading, quilting, and gardening.
