Bbs Climawin: A Software for Thermal and Environmental Calculations of Buildings

Bbs Climawin is a software developed by Bbs Logiciels, a French company specialized in building simulation and energy efficiency. Bbs Climawin allows users to perform various calculations related to the thermal and environmental performance of buildings, such as:

RE2020: the new French environmental regulation that will apply from 2023, which includes indicators such as Bbio, Cep, Dh, and ACV (life cycle assessment).

RT2012: the current French thermal regulation that applies to new constructions and extensions, which includes indicators such as Bbio, Cep, and Tic.

RT Existant: the French thermal regulation that applies to existing buildings, which includes indicators such as UBÃt, UBÃtrÃf, and Cep.

DPE 2021: the new French energy performance diagnosis that will apply from 2021, which includes a new calculation method (3CL-DPE) and a new energy label.

Audit RÃglementaire: the mandatory energy audit that is required for buildings with an F or G energy label.

Apports et dÃperditions: the calculation of heating and cooling loads according to the standards NF EN 12831 and Ashrae.

STD/SED: the dynamic thermal and energy simulation of buildings according to various climatic scenarios and occupancy profiles.

Ponts thermiques: the calculation of thermal bridges by the finite element method, which allows a more precise characterization of heat losses.

Import maquettes numÃriques: the import of digital models in IFC format, which allows to generate a thermal model of the building in ClimaWin.

Bbs Climawin is composed of different modules that can be used independently or in combination, depending on the user's needs. The software has received a favorable evaluation from the CSTB (the French scientific and technical center for building) for the regulatory calculations in RE2020, RT2012, RT Existant, DPE 2021, and Audit RÃglementaire. The software also allows users to access product databases (Edibatec, Inies) to qualify their components. Moreover, the software can be integrated with RevitÂ, a BIM software from Autodesk, thanks to the ClimaBIM module. This module allows users to perform all the thermal and regulatory calculations in real time from the Revit interface.
