How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.

• Stiive 5.3's biggest strength: IPX7 waterproofing plus an ear-hook, in-ear design that's built to stay put during hard workouts, backed by up to 16 hours of playtime.
• Stiive 5.3's biggest trade-off: It's a traditional earbud, so it isn't something you'd wear lying on your side, and it uses Bluetooth 5.3 rather than the newer 5.4.
• LOVE EYE 5.4's biggest strength: A soft, stretchy headband form factor with open-ear placement and 32mm drivers — comfortable enough for side sleepers, meditation and travel, not just running.
• LOVE EYE 5.4's biggest trade-off: It offers less continuous playtime than the Stiive (14 hours vs. 16), and its open-ear headband design means it won't seal off outside noise the way an in-ear bud can.
• Who Stiive 5.3 is for: Runners, lifters, cyclists and anyone who wants a locked-in fit and maximum sweat protection.
• Who LOVE EYE 5.4 is for: Side sleepers, travelers, yoga and meditation fans, and anyone who wants audio without something jammed into their ear canal.
The Stiive 5.3 is unapologetically a sports earbud. The design tells you that immediately: a rounded in-ear tip, an ear-hook to hold it in place, and a silicone enclosure. Add an IPX7 waterproof rating and an interior nano-coating, and you have a set of headphones engineered around the assumption that you will sweat on them and possibly get caught in the rain. For anyone who has had a cheap earbud die three weeks into a training block, that combination is the headline feature.
Buy it if you want one pair of earbuds to handle gym sessions, outdoor runs and phone calls without fussing over fit or water damage. Skip it if you mostly want to listen while lying in bed — the in-ear, ear-hook design is the wrong shape for a pillow, and the noise-cancelling mic doesn't change that. Also note the Bluetooth version is listed as 5.0 in the connectivity details and 5.3 in the product name, so if being on the newest Bluetooth generation matters to you, treat that as a caveat rather than a selling point.
LOVE EYE 5.4: Who It's For
The LOVE EYE 5.4 solves a problem most earbuds ignore: how do you listen comfortably while lying on your side? The answer here is a headband. The drivers sit inside a soft fabric band made from highly elastic, breathable material with a sweat-absorbent lining, and the earpieces use an open-ear, circular placement rather than plugging your canal. Nothing presses into your ear against a pillow, and the band also keeps hair and sweat out of your face during a workout. It's a clever dual-purpose design — sleep aid and sports headband in one.
Audio runs through 32mm composite dynamic drivers, which is a notably large driver for something this thin, and the tuning is described as balanced: loud output, rich bass, clear midrange, balanced treble. Bluetooth 5.4 is the newer generation here, with a stated range of 35 feet — roughly triple the Stiive's 10 metres — which matters if you like to leave your phone charging across the room. Battery is up to 14 hours of continuous play on a 1–2 hour charge, and the battery board includes over-temperature protection as a safety layer. LOVE EYE also backs the product with a one-year manufacturer's warranty and a stated refund/replacement window, and offers email support with a stated reply time.
Buy it if you're a side sleeper, a frequent flyer, or someone who does yoga, meditation or light cardio and wants audio that disappears into what you're already wearing. Skip it if you need maximum battery life, want the isolation of an in-ear seal, or are doing high-intensity training where a fabric band might shift. The open-ear placement is the whole point — it's also the reason it won't block out a loud gym.
• Best for sleeping on your side → LOVE EYE 5.4. The headband form factor is the only one of the two designed for a pillow.
• Best for sweaty, high-intensity workouts → Stiive 5.3. IPX7 plus nano-coating plus ear-hook stability is a purpose-built combination.
• Best for battery life → Stiive 5.3, with up to 16 hours versus 14 on the LOVE EYE.
• Best for Bluetooth generation → LOVE EYE 5.4, which uses 5.4 versus the Stiive's 5.3 (and 5.0 in its listed connectivity details).
• Best wireless range → LOVE EYE 5.4, at a stated 35 feet against the Stiive's 10 metres.
• Best for calls on the move → Stiive 5.3, thanks to its noise-cancelling microphone; the LOVE EYE has a built-in mic but no noise-cancelling claim.
• Best for travel, meditation and relaxation → LOVE EYE 5.4, which explicitly targets those use cases.
• Best for fir-tuners → Stiive 5.3, which ships with four eartip sizes and a wire clip.
If I had to pick one, I'd buy the Stiive 5.3 — but only because my priority is training. The IPX7 rating, the ear-hook fit and the extra two hours of playtime make it the more capable workout tool, and the noise-cancelling mic is a real advantage for anyone taking calls mid-session. That said, if you're shopping for sleep, the Stiive is simply the wrong product, and I'd recommend the LOVE EYE 5.4 without hesitation: the headband design, the larger 32mm drivers and the newer Bluetooth 5.4 make it the better choice for bed, planes and calm. Check the current price on Amazon before you commit, since value depends on what you're actually paying on the day.
Not universally. The Stiive wins on waterproofing, workout fit and playtime; the LOVE EYE wins on comfort for sleepers, Bluetooth generation and wireless range. Which is "better" depends entirely on whether you're buying for the gym or for bed.
That's exactly what it's designed for. The open-ear, circular earpieces sit flat inside a soft, breathable fabric band, so nothing presses into your ear canal when you lie on your side.
Stiive 5.3 is rated at up to 16 hours of playtime from a 2-hour charge. LOVE EYE 5.4 is rated at up to 14 hours from a 1–2 hour charge.
The Stiive 5.3, by a clear margin. Its IPX7 waterproof rating and interior nano-coating are specifically there to handle sweat and rain, while the LOVE EYE 5.4 makes no waterproofing claim in its specs.
