The original Sticky Notes was a gadget included with Windows Vista. Gadgets were continued in Windows 7, though Sticky Notes itself became a standalone app built on the Win32 platform, that could still open at startup. This version did not directly support pen input. The default color is yellow, but five other colors are offered. Sticky Notes have jumplists and a taskbar preview, which shows the notes in a stack. Sticky Notes are automatically saved.[8] This version was reused in Windows 8 and the initial releases of Windows 10.[9]

In the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, released in 2016, a new version of Sticky Notes built on the Universal Windows Platform was introduced. It can be launched as a standalone app or part of the Windows Ink workspace. The latter method causes the space behind the notes to become blurred. The new version directly accepts pen input and can recognize words and letters in handwritten text, basic text formatting, pictures. It is designed to be stick to the desktop or move around. The new Sticky Notes provides stock information when a ticker is typed or written, and it provides flight info when a flight number is typed or written.[10] It has Cortana integration and can create reminders from notes that include a date.[11][12] Unlike the Windows 7 version, this version's taskbar preview shows a stock image rather than the notes a user has created. It originally did not have a jump list, but that was added back in version 1.6.2 on February 6, 2017.

Sticky Notes can sync notes across multiple devices, not just to Windows 10 devices, but also to iOS and Android devices running Microsoft OneNote and Outlook for Windows.[13][14][15] A web client to edit sticky notes is also available on the OneNote website, at the obscure onenote.com/stickynotes location.[16][17][18]

In Sticky Notes version 3.0 and later, you can sign in to sync your notes so that you can see the same notes across apps and your favorite devices. Usually, these devices have a settings command or link you can use. Consult your device's documentation if you're aren't sure.

Android phone Your sticky notes appear with OneNote for Android phones. Open OneNote, and then on the bottom right, tap Sticky Notes. Visit the Google Play Store to install OneNote with Sticky Notes.

You can also quickly access your sticky notes without OneNote if you are using Microsoft Launcher as a custom Home screen for your Android phone. From the Android Home screen, slide from the left edge to see your feed, then flick down and tap Customize feed to add cards. Flick down again and turn on Sticky Notes to add to your feed.

As long as your favorite devices are signed in to the same Microsoft account, your sticky notes stay synced up so that you can see the same notes, everywhere. Sign in with the same Microsoft account to see your notes across your devices.

I am having the same issue, I really hope the developer fixes the issue. I rely on this sticky notes product as well. It must be some change to the API to get the activation link. The developer doesn't seem to have any contact email that I can see....

Thank you Sayre Ambrosio I tried to contact them but still without reply for now and I would like to apologazie for my bad temper to gazumped.

Love the evernote product but I miss synced sticky notes on desktop because I used them most.

The software isn't working because Evernote changed their API and the developer of Sticky Notes didn't update their application to work with an updated API. I have reverse-engineered the Sticky notes software and managed to get it working again. I will post the updated software to my blog in a day or two, because I am preoccupied with work right now. I will also post a link to the updated software in this thread.

I am not sure if this is the right place for this issue. But let's see

Since we generated our master image of Win10-20H2 we have the following issue on our VMware instant clone pool.

If a user clicks on the windows store sticky notes app, it doesn't start correctly.

There is only a window in the taskbar with a running cycle inside but I am not able to add a new note.

If I close the process/windows and open the sticky notes again. It works!

I also reset my UEM profile but same issue happens everytime again. First start after logon to the instant clone the sticky notes don't start correctly.

Sticky Notes version is: 4.1.6.0

The app prompts me with "Tap here to enter your password" in a little grey prompt at the top of the sticky notes inside the app. When I press the prompt, it momentarily goes away, but then comes back. It doesn't take me anywhere that would let me enter a password. When this prompt appears, the notes stop syncing.

Title. Ever since the OneNote / Sticky Notes integration a month ago, I have started to lose sticky notes. Not from the list of open notes on my PC: items permanently lost or overwritten, which I can no longer find with the search tool. At first, I thought this was just a one-off glitch, but it happened again yesterday to an extremely important sticky note that I had used for months to keep records for a project.

However, we are having some admin staff complaining that stick notes is not included. Has anyone found a work around for this? I was hoping that sticky notes was just an exe or something that I could pop into system32 with a few DLLs or something, but this does not appear to be the case.

Sticky notes ARE included in Windows 10.. But they have been upgraded to a new version and the database is different.. This means you will need to CCONVERT the StickyNotes database over to the new version...

and pick sql lite file and execute it. Post executing select Note and you will find all rows corresponding to each sticky notes you have lost. Select the Text column and copy content, you will find all your data there.

My version is Acrobat Professional 8 (8.1.2), but she can't read them! Is there something I can do on my end to enable her to read my notes? I don't know what version she is using, but should that make a difference? I also don't know if she's on a Mac or not (I'm on a PC using Windows).

Google Play Store states that Sticky Notes have been added to the Android version but I can't see them? This is a key feature as I use sticky notes on my Windows 10 desktop and want to access them on my tablet. For some reason I can see them on my Samsung phone as it has a Sticky Note icon at bottom of OneNote, but not on a Samsung tablet - why?

I have further bad news. I have just replaced my android phone and the tab you seek in OneNote 16.0 is not there. The 3 tabs are now Home, Search and Notebooks, the Home tab has your history where the sticky notes reside.

Recently having problems whenever I try to add a sticky note or edit an existing sticky note. There is an @ symbol in the bottom left of the sticky note. After trying to add a note or edit, nothing will type and the document will self close. Tried multiple times to open a document and add or edit a sticky note. I have restarted my computer. I have the most recent version of Acrobat Reader DC (32 bit). I have a 64 bit computer... might that be the problem? Any one else with this problem?

I'm not sure if this indicator-stickynotes 0.4.2-0~ppa2 is the new version of the sticky notes I was using in Ubutnu 12.04. If so, I don't understand why they changed the behaviour to be slower to use.

UPDATE : in current Gnome Flashback in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS there is new version of sticky notes which lack the functionality which I need (e.g. content of notes is lost each restart, and it does not show-and-hide on one click)

It has been reported that some users were unable to find the Sticky Notes application at all, while others have seemingly lost their saved notes. As such, we'll cover both scenarios and the troubleshooting methods you can use if you encounter them.

The second most common issue with the Sticky Notes app in Windows 11 is that notes disappear or get lost. If that happens to you, do not panic. There are quite a few ways to recover your lost notes, and we have listed the most effective ones below.

If you cannot find your notes in the Sticky notes app, then the first thing that you should do is check the "show all notes" section of Sticky Notes. The app by default hides the older notes to make space for the new ones, and you might not be able to find what you are looking for simply because of this.

To check the "show all notes" section, launch the app and right-click on its icon in the taskbar. Choose Show all notes from the context menu and see if you can find the required missing pieces.

You can also revert the notes app to a previous version in which you could access the required notes. App restore works very similarly to System Restore, which allows you to go back to an older version of Windows. Check out how to use System Restore on a Windows PC to learn more about how it works. 2351a5e196
