Stary Sącz is one of the oldest cities in Poland (Lesser Poland Voivodeship). The town is located at the foot of the mountains called Beskid Sądecki in the fork of the Dunajec and Poprad rivers, at an altitude of approximately 320 m above sea level.
It is 20 km from here to the border with Slovakia.
Stary Sącz is a town full of history, culture and art. It is known as the seat of Polish kings. For centuries Stary Sącz has given inspiration to artists and athletes. The most famous monument here is the Monastery of the Poor Clares, founded in 1280 by Princess Saint Kinga, fascinated by the work of Saint Francis of Assisi.
TRANSPORT: It is best to take a plane to Krakow-Balice airport, then a bus from the Krakow Bus Station to Nowy Sącz. In Nowy Sącz you need to change to a bus to Stary Sącz. For larger numbers of people it is possible to book earlier a mini bus.
