Club activities overview
We are based at Carr Mill dam and run our main paddle session on Monday evenings. We have a variety of activities including canoe, kayak, paddle boarding and paddle board yoga. Our club policies are available here, additional guidance from British canoeing is here. Below is the answer to most queries......
Joining the club
Most people will start by booking a taster session, this will give you time to size equipment, meet the team and get a feel for the club. Taster sessions are advertised and booked via our website and social media. Do not just turn-up, we only run taster sessions when we have available kit and coaches
If you have your own equipment and are an experienced paddler we would be able to start you without a taster session, contact with us for more info
If you enjoyed the taster session and would like to continue with the club, you need to become a member and can book onto our sessions.

The canoe club only has access to Carr Mill on Monday evening during organised paddle sessions.
We offer "independent paddle" if you are competent and can self rescue and have your own kit
You will need to become a member of the club (See 'membership' above)
Once you have sorted membership, login and book a place on "independent paddle"
Also be aware of lake and club rules (specifically - In spring time don't go under the arches because of nesting birds, give the fishermen plenty of space)
Can I hire kit/boats
The club equipment is used by the organised sessions and can be selected when booking
