Independent and Rational Thinkers: ‘Chaitanya Vicharak’
Dear Readers,
Education is not merely the accumulation of information; it is the cultivation of discernment, courage, and clarity. At Salwan Public School, we believe that the true purpose of learning is to empower every child to grow into an independent and rational thinker; one who questions with curiosity, reflects with depth, and decides with wisdom.
An independent mind is not shaped by impulse or imitation; it is guided by thoughtful inquiry and balanced judgment. To think rationally is to seek truth with humility, to weigh perspectives with fairness, and to arrive at conclusions rooted in reason and values. In a world abundant with information and opinion, the ability to pause, analyse, and respond mindfully has become an essential life skill.
Through inquiry-based learning, collaborative discussions, debates, research projects, and reflective practices, we encourage our students to move beyond passive acceptance towards active exploration. They are inspired to ask “why,” to challenge assumptions respectfully, and to support their ideas with evidence and empathy. Such habits of mind build confidence, not arrogance; conviction, not rigidity. Independence in thought also carries responsibility. Rational thinking must be anchored in integrity, compassion, and respect for diverse viewpoints. When learners listen deeply, evaluate carefully, and act ethically, they embody intellectual maturity.
They learn that disagreement need not lead to division, and that reason, when guided by values, becomes a powerful force for harmony and progress.
Equally important is the courage to stand by one’s reasoned beliefs while remaining open to growth. An independent thinker understands that learning is continuous and that changing one’s perspective in light of new understanding is not weakness but wisdom.
As we nurture this spirit, we prepare our students not only to excel academically but also to navigate life with clarity and conscience. They become individuals who do not simply follow the crowd, but contribute thoughtfully to it, leaders who act with awareness and citizens who uphold truth with responsibility.
Upon reflecting on this vision, I am reminded: “True education does not tell us what to think, it teaches us how to think, so that we may choose wisely, act ethically, and live meaningfully.”
Let us continue to guide our learners towards intellectual independence and rational inquiry, shaping thoughtful minds and hearts that are balanced, alongside actions guided by reason and values.
Blessings,
Ms. Rashmi Malik

As the examination season begins, the school campus comes alive with determination, focus, and quiet confidence. Examinations are not merely academic requirements; they are opportunities to demonstrate resilience, dedication, and the strength built through months of learning. The entire school community stands beside every student during this important time, extending heartfelt encouragement and special best wishes to those appearing for the board examinations.
Feeling nervous before an exam is completely normal, and for board students, the pressure may feel even greater. However, these moments are not meant to intimidate but to empower you. Every hour of study, every revision, and every challenge you have overcome has prepared you for this. Believe in your abilities—confidence is born from honest effort and steady preparation.
Smart time management can transform effort into success. Following a balanced study routine, revising systematically, and allowing yourself short breaks will help you stay focused, refreshed, and motivated. Remember, consistency matters more than long hours of stress.
Regular revision sharpens understanding and builds clarity. Revisiting key concepts, formulas, and definitions strengthens your foundation and ensures that you walk into the examination hall feeling prepared and assured.
Practising previous years’ question papers and sample tests is especially valuable for board students. It boosts confidence, improves writing speed, and helps you approach the exam with familiarity rather than fear. Each practice session brings you one step closer to excellence.
Your well-being is just as important as your preparation. A healthy body and a calm mind work together to produce the best results. Adequate rest, nutritious food, and a positive mindset will keep your energy high and your thoughts clear.
Entering the examination hall with calmness and positivity can make a powerful difference. Read each question carefully, trust your preparation, and begin with confidence. You are capable of more than you realise.
Always remember that examinations—even board examinations—are only one chapter in your life’s story. Your true strength lies in your perseverance, integrity, and willingness to keep learning and growing beyond any result.
We extend our best wishes to all our students, and especially to our board examination candidates. May your hard work shine through, your confidence guide you, and your determination lead you to success. Step forward with courage, believe in yourself, and give your very best.
Best Wishes for the Examinations!

My Daily Discovery
The sun ascends – a quest anew,
Each day unfolds with something true.
My thoughts, my questions, all my own,
In every doubt, a seed is sown.
A stumble brings a hidden spark,
A moment lost becomes a mark.
Mistakes return with quiet grace,
Each one a lesson we must face.
No fear of failure holds me still,
Each slip refines my strength and will.
I learn, I grow, I rise once more,
Each effort opens a new door.
The world's a guide, so vast and wise,
With learning seen through open eyes.
Each day reveals a truth to me—
A step toward who I’m meant to be.

Stupid Human Race
This stupid human race,
Makes my heart pace.
Unaware of what they chase,
All of them are a lost case.
Stars can be climbed on, in many ways,
Yet, they all go crazy over a maze.
Though there’s one thing I embrace,
You’re the one I trace.
This stupid human race,
Makes my heart pace.
Wearing a borrowed face,
They blindly chase blank praise.
Carrying a hollow grace,
Astray is the spirit of their days.
Overdone with a dazzling lace,
Wicked seems the golden rays.
This stupid human race,
Makes my heart pace.
Yet I’ve found a way to leave the space,
I vent out to you for a hopeful phrase.

Where Time Stands Still
Hill stations offer a refreshing escape from the chaos of city life. With their cool climate, scenic beauty, and tranquil surroundings, they provide the perfect retreat to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect with nature, away from daily stress and hustle. Last year, my family and I travelled to Pangot, a small village near Nainital.
I settled down in the passenger seat and rolled down the window, the refreshing chilly breeze caressing my face in a gentle embrace. The giant hills, standing proud and aloof, were covered by the green and luscious flora. The leaves on the trees rustled in the gentle wind.
It tousled my hair as I took a deep inhale, an earthy scent filling my chest. I gazed out the window in pure awe at the beauty of nature — the shrill and sweet calls of birds echoing amongst the vast valleys. It seemed as if they sang a welcome song to us.
The calm babbling of the narrow river filled my mind with serenity. The foamy water of the river glistened like glass in the sun’s golden shine. It felt as if time had frozen, letting me bathe in the pure joy of witnessing the splendour of God’s creations.
