Letter from the President:
Dear Friends,
As we turn the page into a new month, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your continued support of our public library. Because of you, our library remains not just a building full of books, but a vibrant, welcoming place for learning, connection, and discovery.
Like many of you, I’ve spent much of the past couple of weeks stuck inside, waiting out the cold. During these gray, chilly days, I found real comfort in books—stacked on my nightstand, rediscovered on my shelves, or borrowed from the library. There’s something especially grounding about escaping into a good story when the world outside feels frozen, and it’s a reminder of how vital our library is as a source of warmth, imagination, and quiet refuge for our community.
These winter stretches also remind us how important it is to look out for one another. The Friends of the Library is more than a fundraising group—we’re a community. If you find yourself needing a hand during this snow and ice, or if you know someone who could use a check-in, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Staying connected, even in small ways, makes all the difference.
Our next Friends meeting will be held March 9, 2026 at 5:00pm. It’s a great chance to meet fellow library supporters, learn more about upcoming projects, and share ideas for the year ahead. New faces are always welcome!
Thank you for being such an important part of this community. Your support reminds us why libraries—and the friends who stand behind them—matter so much.
Stay warm,
Ashley Hayes

GOVERNORS EARLY LITERACY FOUNDATION - http://www.governorsfoundation.org
Your help is needed in locating all Stewart County children from birth to age 5 to introduce them to the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, STILL LOOKING FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN!! 20% of the children in this age group are still not signed up!
Once a child is signed up, each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in the child's name directly to their home. The registered children can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. There are currently 518 Stewart County children registered and receiving books but there are many more yet to locate and register. 2,406 have graduated from the program in Stewart County. Parents may also register their children online at http://www.governorsfoundation.org. If the child moves, it is vital that parents have the child's address changed in order to continue receiving the books.
Would you like to help this wonderful program? As little as $12 will pay for books for one child, for an entire year! Donations can be made out to Stewart County Friends of the Public Library, noting “Imagination Library” in the memo line, and mailed or delivered to the Stewart County Public Library, 102 Natcor Drive, Dover TN 37058. Stewart County Friends of the Public Library is a 501(c))(3) charitable organization and a partner agency of the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region. Donations are tax- deductible.

We, as a group, make a positive change in the lives of Stewart County children every time we sign-up another child for Imagination Library, pass on information regarding I.L. to someone else, or otherwise contribute to this positive program.
